A Share - Definition

In a family of diverse classes of mutual funds or shares A shares are those that have some sort of special stockholder voting rights and access to dividends. It is also known as preferred stocks. Each class has different rights.

This is the class has to pay a fee. Not all fund companies follow this class structure but it is a the well known method of distinction.
