Allonge - Definition

A paper attached to a document to enable writing endorsements when the back of the bill is full. A bill of exchange is transferable through endorsement and it may have been exchanged among so many parties. All these parties may not fit on the bill. In such a case, a separate piece of paper the allonge - is attached to the bill, as a legal extension of the document.
