Call provision - Definition

A clause in the indenture of a bond expressing the right of the issuer to redeem the bond, in part or in its entirety, before the maturation date. A bond call will almost always favor the issuer over the investor, so it is worth looking into if a Callable bond is worth buying. A call provision Attributes typically include a time period under which the bond can be called, and a price to be paid to bondholders and any Interest-791'>Accrued interest.
