Identifiable asset - Definition

Any asset that can be assigned a Fair value on a Balance Sheet in a Transaction such as a merger or Acquisition. Identifiable assets include individuals, associations, institutions, physical assets and social connections. Identifying such assets form an important part of company valuations, especially when mergers and acquisitions are invovled.
